Factors affecting the breaking strength of corrugated board
The bursting strength of corrugated board is related to the bursting strength of inner paper, face paper and middle paper, not to the core paper.

The bursting strength of corrugated board is related to the bursting strength of inner paper, face paper and middle paper, not to the core paper. That is to say, strengthening the bursting strength of the inside, side and middle paper can improve the overall bursting strength.

The factors that affect the bursting strength of paper are as follows:

1. The breaking strength of the base paper itself is mainly determined by the base paper fiber. The breaking resistance is related to the fiber length and the binding force between fibers. The increase of the fiber length and the binding force between fibers can improve the breaking resistance. The paper from log pulp is more resistant to breaking than from recycled pulp, and the paper from coniferous wood pulp is more resistant to breaking than from broad-leaved pulp. In addition, adding some additives in the process of making base paper can also help to improve the bursting strength of base paper.

2. When the moisture content of paperboard is between 5% and 6%, the bursting value is the highest. When the moisture content is in the range of 8-14%, the change of burst value is less than 5%, but when the moisture content is 18%, the decrease of burst value can reach about 10%. That is to say, when the corrugated box is stored in the environment with the relative humidity of 50% RH ~ 80% RH, the change range of its bursting strength is very small, so the temperature and humidity balance treatment process of the sample can be avoided, thus greatly reducing the test time.

3. The storage environment of base paper or carton should be 25 ± 5 ℃, 55 ± 5% RH.
